Employing staff in the UK is a lot more complicated than it used to be. Whilst the physical requirements placed on a business are still relatively light in contractual terms, the amount of regulation and other rules and laws that you must comply with expands and chanes at an alarimg rate.

As a business you are required to give your employees a written statement of main terms of employment within two months of them starting employment. You should also issue a legally compliant Disciplinary and Grievance procedure, which can be found on the ACAS web site here –www.acas.org.uk. It is sensible to ensure that you provide an Equal Opportunities policy also.
