As we’re sure that many of you will be aware, from 30th June 2014 the right for employees to apply for flexible working will be extended to all employees with at least 26 weeks service.
We have received and read lots of alarming emails and mailshots about this change, but in truth there is not a great deal to worry about.
Flexible working can bring tremendous benefits, but it’s not for everyone. The most important aspect of these rules is to follow the correct procedure and if you are going to refuse an application, make sure that it is refused on one of the eight business grounds allowed. You can find full details of the process via the following link – www.gov.uk/flexible-working/overview
